Everything can be a toy.
Our empty book bucket is now a wonderful toddler hiding spot.
Peek-a-boo! |
We often use it as a drum and a pedestal too.
Here are some other easy, toddler friendly ideas for fun with regular household items without regard to their intended purpose:
- Collar Stays
- Yogurt Containers (plus some other ideas from Creative with Kids)
- Magazines (from A Mom with a Lesson Plan)
- Newspaper (from hands on: as we grow)
- Plastic Cups (from The Imagination Tree)
Sometimes the funnest activities come about all on their own, like Zel's bucket peek-a-boo game or this obstacle course from A Mom with a Lesson Plan.
Has your child discovered a new use for any of your seemingly boring household items?
You are so right! My son loves laundry baskets, one of the coolest toddler toys we have :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, ours is mesh and Zel loves to walk around with it on his head.
DeleteMy son loves to play with anything around the house, too....especially Tupperware! I don't think we needed to buy him any actual toys! :)
ReplyDeleteI know! I've definitely bought less and less as he gets older and I've learned that the expensive toys are never the favorites.
